The festival kick-off will be played by the starting dancer Eduardo Guerrero from Cádiz with his company. The richly contrasted concert "FARO" combines elegance and cosmopolitanism with the movement of traditional and contemporary flamenco. Guerrero's trademark is his uniquely bold and sophisticated dance style, which does not always adhere to traditional boundaries and inspires and captivates visitors and critics time and time again. At the "Festival de Jerez 2017" he gave the audience an euphoric with the piece "Guerrero" and was awarded the Audience Prize. entreCulturas is a musical project that combines the diverse flamenco culture with the modern influences of jazz and world music in a refreshing way under the direction of Spanish percussionist Jorge Palomo. EntreCulturas means "interculturality" and is aimed at an audience that wants to be carried away into a world full of musical surprises.

The percussionist and composer Jorge Palomo comes from Malaga. He grew up in a music-loving FaHe started playing flamenco guitar as a young boy. In his musical He has experimented with a wide variety of music genres such as Pop, Rock, Latin Jazz, Cuban and Brazilian music. Thus he appropriated a particularly versatile musical and rhythmic expression. He worked with many renowned artists, including Manzanita and Jorge Pardo, and toured the world.

The dancer Montserrat Suárez was already enthusiastic about flamenco at the age of seven. She studied with the most famous teachers of Spain. Today, the artist looks back on an amazing career with international stage experience. She appeared as a soloist and together with internationally renowned flamenco artists.

The saxophonist and flute player Pedro Esperanza has been performing internationally with internationally renowned artists since 1989. With his work he wants to bring the public closer to the concept of modern flamenco.

The sought-after pianist and composer Andrey Shabashev enchants the audience with its impressive combination of jazz music and electronic music.

ANTONIO ANDRADE DÚO & ENSEMBLE IBÉRICA (Spain / USA)

The ANTONIO ANDRADE DÚO presents together with the ENSEMBLE IBÉRICA from the USA a concert of the extra class. In February 2018 in Kansas City, USA, both formations appeared together for the first time, combining the authentic flamenco of the ANTONIO ANDRADE DÚO with musical styles from the Iberian Peninsula as well as the entire Mediterranean and Latin America. The repertoire of the ANTONIO ANDRADE DUO & ENSEMBLE IBÉRICA includes the Portuguese Fado and the Argentine Tango on die Baroque music from Spain to Flamenco, the most diverse styles of music, which played a role in the spread of the Iberian culture. Introduced in Europe in the 7th century, the lute recalls the oriental past; for it was the Moors who helped Andalusia to blossom. The Cuban guitar "Tres Cubano" leaves above all the Recognize the influence of the Caribbean.
